Photography is a way to capture a moment and be able to keep it forever. It is not about the perfect light, setting, or pose but capturing what is real. From a tiny caterpillar on a blade of grass to a baby’s first smile to the clouds rolling in over my favorite pier, they are all things that make my shutter click.

I attended the University of South Carolina, majored in Media Arts with my focus in photography. Post college I worked as a beach portrait photographer and then as a corporate church portrait photographer. I quickly realized that my work was not as meaningful under such constraints, so I began working strictly as a freelance photographer. This gives me the freedom to be creative and do things the way I want.

To quote one of my favorite photographers, Joe McNally, “The only way to keep your heart beating as a photographer is to shoot what you love.”
